Hello, I am DMacW. My favorite thing to do is create, build, draw, anything that is constructive. favorite colors are green and blackI am skilled with Gimp, getting to know Blender, and looking into Unity. Awesome! Welcome and nice to meet you, I'm Skips, the Home Repair Viking (you can call me Skips). You are very lucky! I would like to be creative but I am not very creative at all, unfortunately. Sometimes I try my hand at drawing but it never turns out well, and I don't really enjoy it :c I wish I did, though! I wish I enjoyed writing too because I love to read but I just don't get very good ideas and I get bored of writing after about two minutes of it D: I hope we may see some of your work in the future! Thanks Skips! What do you like to do?

Yeah, it feels like I've been here for ages but I haven't even been part of this forum for even... a week?? I don't even know XD but it still feels like the forum is my home TuTYou tell me!! The first days it was basically Acanthea, P3t3rsam, Lifesky and me hanging around with the Admin - and I loved every second of it nonetheless xD >I sense I have been summoned. Are we throwing a cool block party or what? Anybody? No? Just me? My dad? No? okay...

Thanks Skips! What do you like to do? No problemo! Not much XD I'm very lazy - sleep is just too good! But I like to play the piano, sing in a choir, read (mainly fanficion), hang out with my buds and meet swell people on the internet (may I say, such as yourself >u<)! I don't really do much else cause of school D: Oh, and I do love learning! Interesting stuff though. I like languages, but I suck at them XD I can speak English (obviously), a bit of French and the tiniest bit of German. I tried to teach myself some Japanese too but it didn't go too well c:

Hello everyone I'm Karyon, rider of Stellaluna, a green-and-gold Deadly Nadder who is currently working on sticking her landings a bit better ^_^; somehow she keeps ending up on her side instead of her feet, silly dragon. I'm a young-at-heart college student who is a big fan of Dreamworks, and I don't plan to ever grow out of enjoying their stories and movies! I'm also a member of the SCA (waves to fellow SCAdians) - Draco Invictus, Midrealm! - and I do fencing, archery, and costuming, when I can! I also love roleplaying, especially tabletop, but also forum RP I play on a site called Stella Erratica as Cirago - it's an open genre/world setting where original characters from different universes can cross paths, including Berk Vikings, if anyone wants to drop by and say hello! I enjoy gardening, reading science fiction and fantasy, and musical theater. I've visited Stockholm, and I lived in Japan for a year (Saitama-shi, anyone?), though that was a while ago and I'm afraid my conversational Japanese is horribly rusty. I still enjoy anime and manga, though! I've just started playing, and in spite of the game overheating my poor laptop (anyone else have this problem/know a solution?), I'm already addicted ^_^ this is a fun game, with a great team, and a wonderfully welcoming community. Feel free to drop me a greeting in the game any time!

Ohai! Kirjava here - Nordrljos in the game, although my current name is still Viking blahblahnumbah I'm 19, Italian, and obsessed with HTTYD as well! (no, really?). I'm mostly an otaku, but Dreamworks holds a part of my fangirl heart as well xD I study art conservation at the university. My favourite music are movie soundtracks and 80s disco dance. I read so many books, I can't choose a favourite one! I love Philip Pullman, Cressida Cowell (well, duh - my goal is to get and read all of her books!) and so many others. I also enjoy fanfictions a tad too much. Oh, and I've always liked to draw, with... well, not great success, but I still like doodling. Especially on my textbooks when I'm actually supposed to study them. What animes did you watch? :3 Im glad im not the only one here, I'm an otaku but I loooove dreamworks aswell. Just funny because I love HTTYD, yet I love Black butler aswell. and those two are a huuuuge difference.

Ohai Karyon! Nice name on your dragon. Luuucky living in Japan. I bet it was awesome. I'm still stuck with the basic Japanese Dx Anime and manga are love! Although they've kinda been replaced by httyd in the past year or so xD *hands some Nutella as a welcoming gift* Hello Kirjava! Thanks! She's named after a children's book character - a bat - but it seemed appropriate ^_^ Japan is just like any other country XD It has ups and downs. It's a wonderful place to visit, but it's got its problems, too. Sexism in the workplace was pretty rampant and frustrating as swamp, it's easy to get isolated when you don't speak fluently, and at least in the city I ran into some constant low-level resentment from (particularly older) people muttering how foreigners were taking their children's jobs. Though I had friends who worked as school teachers out in the rural areas who said they didn't really get that response outside the big cities. What you see in anime doesn't really prepare you for the culture shock, either ^_^; the Tokyo rush hour train crush is hilarious to watch but miserable to get stuck in, and if you're a girl you really DO have to worry about inappropriate touching and grabbing, particularly by older men >_< The trains are amazing, but the farther away from the city you get, the less often trains run, and you can really get stuck if you miss a switch >.> happened to me once or twice. Also, they're not 24 hours <.< so if you go into the city and stay too late you can get stuck...and having to get a taxi is horribly expensive >_< On the other hand, Tokyo is full of endless places to explore, from hidden away temples to amazing udon shops to fantastic little underground jazz bars. Kyoto and Osaka have some great historical opportunities if you love old castles and noh theater, and traveling from one end of the country to the other is a breeze with the shinkansen. Even the inter-island flights aren't too expensive. It's a country with a lot of history and beautiful countryside, if you know the right people to help you get around ^_^ and I can talk about it for hours XD It was neither awesome nor terrible - though there were moments that were both! - but going from being an American white girl to a minority in a foreign country - and not just as a tourist! - was definitely a major life-changing experience. I'd heartily suggest everyone try it at least once! *puts nutella on graham crackers* thank you! That's very thoughtful <3

Tempest, start saving up for a visit! 2 weeks is just about perfect ^_^ and no matter what time of year you go, there's fun stuff to do. July is prime time to climb Fuji-san, August is Obon, and all the neighborhood summer festivals! When the leaves start changing in the fall is the perfect time to do some hiking - I liked going to Nikko to see the temples surrounded by red maples, and Mt. Hakone near Tokyo. Winter has the cheapest plane tickets, usually - try late January or February. The skiing up in Nagano is fantastic! Or you can go snowshoeing or ice-climbing closer to Tokyo. Spring is cherry blossom season, but also a good time to do some white water rafting or waterfall climbing! And no matter what time of year you go, there's tons to do in the cities. Odaiba hotsprings in Tokyo is a hoot, Meiji temple is always beautiful, and the Harajuku cosplayers almost never take a Sunday off XD Ikebukuro is filled with department stores (fun to see the difference between east and west shopping!) and also is a great place for otaku to get alllll sorts of anime-related *stuff.* I spent a lot of money there XD I have a ton of pencil boards from shows like Bleach and Full Metal Alchemist. My favorite little 100yen udon shop was in Shinjuku ^_^ and the Sony building let's you walk through to see their new products - and games! I only briefly visited Kyoto and Osaka, but there's lots of stuff to do there, too ^_^ it's definitely worth saving up for, even if it'll be a few years before you can go. Just plan to bring an extra, empty suitcase to fill up with all the gifts and goodies you'll want to bring back! (and have some takoyaki for me! I miss takoyaki so much ;_; )
