I wonder what an admins opinion on this would be, because if night furies, were added, this could be one suggestion

It's certainly an interesting idea. If it was truly based on things seen in the series, my partner and I would have a lot of trouble; we only have access to regular TV, not cable, and we'd have to wait for the series to come out on DVD in Aus.
But, even so, it seems like a good idea. If they wanted to make it even harder, they could make it so that you could only attempt the quest once every 24 hours. That'd certainly slow down the rush of NFs.

These are good ideas to keep the amount of night furies down, especially the island one where night furies only stay on a special island away from the school or the one where you night fury rests when the time limit of flying him is up  |

Hate to burst your bubble, but Berk is a single island in the entire world, and in the HTTYD world, dragons exist everywhere. It is highly possible that when Toothless was a baby he got separated from his family, wherever they may live in the world, and somehow wound up at Berk. Maybe, like someone else suggested, they are extremely territorial and only meet up with one another for mating. I doubt that Toothless is the only Night Fury.

That's one crazy way to be born xD As nightfurymaster said, berk is a tiny island and the earth is huge, toothless may be the only night fury in berk, but I highly doubt all of a sudden when he dies, no more night furies  |

Agreed. Plus, I mean in Riders of Berk, they are starting to look for other Night Furies. So thats hinting at the fact that there might be other night furies out there somewhere.

Ya, I really hope we see more night furies, I mean if your dragon was the only one of its kind in your area, and you failed to find to find him or her more of his/her species, how bad would you feel?  |

um you do know animals go extinct every once in a while right? what if Toothless actually is the only Night Fury? I doubt it too but you never know. I also believe that if they do make the quest as jibley said I don't think hiccup would be so calm about Toothless being a dad...  |

I think DreamWorks won't make toothless the only night fury.
1: it seems like toothless isn't from berk, and that's why he is the only night fury in berk, maybe he was drawn in by the red death.
2: I don't think hiccup will give up looking for night furies, so its up to DreamWorks for hiccup to succes or fail.
3: night furies are epic and deserve to live ftw
