Messed up textures and missing item icons

I just started yesterday, and when I created my avatar I thought the only thing you can do to customize him is change his eye, hair, skin, and war paint colors. I was quite upset when I though that. But then my cursor accidentally hovered in the top left corner of the big box directly above the color selection box, and the words, "side ponytail" appeared, but there was nothing there. So I clicked on it and nothing happened. So I moved my cursor a little over to the right and hovered it there and the words, "shaggy" appeared, still nothing there. So I clicked on it and it changed the hair on my avatar. I moved my cursor a little bit more to the right and hovered it, but no words appeared. No more words appeared in that box, except in the first two spots. Then I moved my cursor over to the far left side of the smaller box with the arrows on the left and right sides, above the large box, and hovered it there and the words, "hair styles" appeared. I experimented with it a little bit and noticed that in the smaller box were the selections for "hair styles", "eyes", "scars", "decals", "shirts", "pants", and "shoes." And in the big box were what you could choose from after clicking on one of the selections above. In all the selections, except for "scars" and "decals", were only two selections to choose from in each selection. In the "scars" and "decals" selections there was only one to choose from in each selection, which were "dragons no facial scars" and and "dragons no decal." I clicked on the side arrows in the smaller box, but it didn't do anything. But in both boxes there weren't any icons for anything. Then after I created my avatar, when Hiccup was flying me to the school, the only thing I could see was Toothless. Everything else was completely pink. I couldn't even see the rings or where I was going. I somehow made it to the school. After I landed and Hiccup had me open my journal, I noticed that where my avatar was supposed to appear was just blank. After I closed my journal, I noticed that where my avatars head is supposed to appear in the top left corner, was just a brown square that was sort of overlapping the sides of the circle. Then I noticed that where the mini-map was supposed to appear in the top right corner was the same way, but only bigger because it was the mini-map. After I placed my dragons egg in the lava, it just sat there on the pedestal doing nothing. It wasn't frozen, because I could still see the lava bubbling up. I tried clicking on the egg and that did nothing. Then when I clicked in the top right corner, it went to the dragon customization screen, which was the same way as the avatar customization screen at the begging. After I was able to walk around with my dragon, I noticed that where my dragons head is supposed to be shown under my avatar was the same was as my avatar and the mini-map. Then when Hiccup gave me the three apples after teaching me how to feed and play with my dragon, I checked my backpack and I didn't see them in there, even though I saw them go in there. There was no item icons and no words appeared when I would hover my cursor over some areas of the backpack window. After that I just stopped playing for the night. Oh, and multiple times when I was in the middle of walking or viewing my journal the game would freeze and my cursor would disappear completely while it was over the browser window. But I could still highlight bookmarks and switch, close, and open tabs. I could also still click on the refresh button on the game's tab it was on and that would make my cursor reappear, and send me back to the log in screen. I use the Firefox web browser, on Windows XP SP3 Home Edition. My computer is a Dell series 4600 desktop. I'm not sure what year it is. If anyone could please help me with these problems, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you in advance to everyone who helps me. And I'm sorry I don't have any screen shots, I didn't think to take them when they happened.

It seems the texture problems are probably related to the secret avatar selections (probably code that will be further implemented later; a buggy sneak peak, if you will). Also, a side ponytail is probably the coolest thing I have ever heard of.

I'm sorry it took so long, but I had some troubles both with the computer and IRL. But here's the screenshots of the problems.

1st, the avatar customization problem with the hair selection:


2nd, the flight problem where everything is pink:


And 3rd, the avatar in the top left corner and the mini-map problems:


That's all I was able to get, because for some reason after I got to the school, I couldn't do anything. I hope with these screenshots, you'll be able to help me figure out what's happening. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey, Nightstar. Thanks for a very detailed description of the issues you were experiencing. We released updates today that should address some of the bugs you experienced so please let us know if those worked for you. However, we are still passing this information along to our production team so they can find and eliminate the bugs you described. Thanks for your help!

Hey p3t3rsam, we had a large update last night with a lot of bug fixes. We had a couple that should have taken care of the texture issues. Please let us know if you continue to face any more problems and we will address them immediately.

Hey Nighstar, very similar to what I just wrote, we had a large update last night with a lot of bug fixes. We had a couple that should have taken care of the texture issues, avatar customization and saving problems, and mini-map issues. Please let us know if you continue to face any more problems and we will address them immediately.
