Unauthorized account?

So i was planting some things in my farm today, and a player (mod, admin?) came and told me that my account is "unauthorized" and that i should go and authorize it. I wanted to ask what that means but i found out that i couldn't open my chat at all (although rarely was i able to write to somebody anyway because my messages would simply not appear in the chat window after clicking send).

The only thing that i got when registrering was a link i simply clicked on. I never used real money to buy gems (yet) and i can't seem to find information regarding that in the Site Terms either. What could it be about? A ... prank maybe? xD

Hey katjan. Sounds like it may have been another player playing a prank? The only time you need to authorize your account is before you begin playing SoD, just as you mentioned. Also, we'd like to hear more about the chat issues you experienced so we can look further into the issue to resolve it. Any details would be helpful. Thanks!

Thanks Brynjolf, i am glad that there was nothing serious

So i can't use the chat at all, because the text won't appear as soon as i send it. After clicking send, the message - long or short or containing just an emoticon- will simply disappear. I can send private mails though... but it's not the same, i mean, there were a couple of players who asked me if i wanted to go and race or something, but i wasn't able to respond  ; ))

Thanks katjan! Does chat not work everywhere for you or does it work in certain areas? Also, do you experience this chat issue every time you play or does it work occasionally? Thanks!

Well, the place doesn't matter in general, although the shorter the message the higher the chances that it will be sent. It worked a few times until now, but only for short conversations. I played the game on 3 different computers and the problem remained everytime Though I think that it lags the most when there are a lot of people around.

Overall, it will only work occasionally, but even then i'm only able to send a sentence or two before it stops functioning.

Thanks for the information, katjan. Also, I've been receiving more reports of an avatar that appears in players' farms telling them they need to authorize their account, so it looks like this could be a bug in the game. Have you encountered this avatar since your initial post or in any other areas? Thanks!
