Unable to finish quest?

I was just about to finish up Hiccups quest "The Fog Rolled In" and give him all the items I'd collected, when I was given the prompt that I still had to get the items. I was sure I'd just spent the last ten minutes or so gathering all the parts I'd needed. My quest arrow and book state that I must go give Hiccup the parts, but when I do, it still says I have to collect the parts. I looked in my backpack and realized that I didn't actually have all the parts needed, even though I was POSITIVE I'd gotten them all. The game even supports what I think: it keeps saying I have to give all the items to Hiccup. But I don't have them, and I don't think I can get them anymore because I'd technically already "gotten" them. I can't quit the quest and restart it, so am I going to always have this unfinished quest? Will I be unable to talk to Hiccup anymore because I just don't have all the parts?

I was thinking about it and I think it might be because of a weird glitch that I get ever so often? Sometimes all the other players just disappears. Some features (example: messaging) are blocked, so I just can't send any, but most of the other things still work, like quests for example. I can still go around and do quests, and the characters still "give" me quest items and let me keep advancing through the quest. When this glitch happens, I actually go ahead and keep playing the game. But, now that I think about it, because not all the features work, when I continue playing and I progress through quests, I don't actually "get" any of the items I should have gotten. When I log out and in again, it says I'm progressed, but I guess it just didn't process the items I'd gotten WHEN I'd progressed?

Is there anyway for this to be fixed? And will I just be stuck with this unfinished quest?
