Hey, everyone. I just wanted to list some things that could be added to the game in the future.
1: More dragons! As much as I love Night Furies, it would be a bad idea to add them and make it easy to get. Its very hard for me to say this, because I am absolutely unable to get premium content due to money and payment issues. But it would be awesome if they could add the Timberjack, Bone Knapper, and Snaptrapper as trainable dragons. And then as wild dragons you can battle, they could add the Terror, Changewing, Scauldron, and Skrill.
2: Graphics settings options. I say this because I am playing on an older computer and I am unable to upgrade, I bet some other people are too, and I've noticed that its really laggy, and in some cases, the textures are messed up. Like when Hiccup flew me to the school I was unable to see anything but Toothless, because everything was pink. I was completely unable to fly through the rings, because I couldn't even see them. So I feel this would help with this.
3: Pre-paid gift cards. This would be a perfect way for people who are unable to get premium content through the current payment options. They would be sold at stores like Walmart, Gamestop, Best Buy, CVS, ect. They could give you either a membership or gems. For example: A $10 card would give you either a 1 month membership or 1,000 gems. You can choose which you want when redeem the card. It could be like that or it gives you a membership and gems at a slightly higher cost. Foe example: A $15 dollar card would give you a 1 month membership and 500 gems. But what the cards give you and for how much is up to the Dragon Team to decide. But it would be beneficial to both the players who are unable to pay using the current payment options, and the Dragon Team at increasing profits.
But all of those things would be wonderful if they added in the future, hopefully the near future. I would like to hear what everyone else thinks of these, and if they have other ideas, please share them. And lastly, a huge thanks to the Dragon Team for making this awesome game, and working so hard with updating and improving it as we speak, all with the players in mind. You guys are great! ^_^
EDIT: 4: A stat system. Like for instance Speed, Attack Power, Defense, ect. This would be used for things like battles (Attack Power and Defense), and Thunder Run Races. (Speed, possibly the Attack Power but I've never participated in one, so I don't know if you can attack during them. It would determine how powerful the attack is and how long its effects last, in conjunction with Defense, of course. Which Defense would be how well you resist the attack.)
In EDIT 2, the errors were deemed outlandish and ridiculous ideas to be appropriate for adding to the game.

I absolutely LOVE #1. I think you should be able to battle and train wild dragons I know, that would be so awesome. But some dragons aren't very good as trainable dragons, like the Terror, Scauldron, and Skrill (although it might be possible to train a Skrill, but it would be very hard).

>Pre paid cards wouldn't work and this is why. Producing pre-paid cards costs money, and ideally the selling of prepaid cards would outweigh the cost to produce. you'll notice that only big companies and big AAA title games produce pre paid cards. The general audience of the game is probably 7-11 ish years old and unlike AAA titles like COD or halo, the consumer base is limited and young, meaning that prepaid cards just wouldn't sell. While it's a good idea, the game would either need to change it's projected consumer base and start catering to an older audience with more mature content, or somehow gain thousands of players with parents that love their children and have disposable income. Unfortunately, the first option would make no sense whatsoever and the second is not likely to happen. Cheers

If the general audience of the game is a problem, then how do you explain Animal Jam, whose general audience is about the same age or even younger. And the fanbase of HTTYD is much larger then that of Animal Jam, and includes both younger and older people alike. The first option would make sense, as not every dragon is trainable, and would still be wild and attack unsuspecting vikings in their travels. But the first part of the first option would add more dragons to choose from and allow people to pick their favorite dragons if they are not already available. Maybe you are right about the second option, but it would help people that have older computers with similar problems.

>Sorry mate, didn't mean to offend you, I just wanted to display the facts in a non opinionated manor. AS for "Animal Jam", I've never heard of it and it took me a bit to find out what in the blazes it was. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that the game is for pc and involves online micro transactions available as gift cards and such within the online store. whether it has actual physical pre-paid cards I have no idea, but I'd assume it's success is due to the fact that it is partnered with nat geo kids as well as being marketed strictly as an educational game, as opposed to a mmo with optional educational aspects.
>As for the consumer base, "Fans of the How to Train Your Dragon franchise =/= players of "School of Dragons". You'll find that many people who like HTTYD don't play SOD as not everybody likes games, not everybody likes mmos, and the catered demographic doesn't cover everyone ( MOST teenagers, adults and such).
> Catering to an older demographic. Your response shows that you did not completely understand my original point, and for that I blame myself for poor formatting. What I meant by more mature content is stuff that would cater to a mature audience. Stuff such as violent viking battles, blood and gore, dragon death battles, ...etc. None of this really fits the general motto of the HTTYD franchise and would seem out of place in a game about teenage vikings training dragons at a school. Mature content wouldn't fit with this game and would alienate a lot of the users. The potential for mature content to bring in new users is a flawed and nonsensical idea.
>My second idea of having lots of kids with parents with disposable income would work but the odds of the game gaining thousands of new players with cash to spend outlandish and ridiculous. I forsee the game gaining a surplus of users later on when more content is added, but not nearly on the scale that would support pre paid physical cards.
I remain, P3T3RSAM

I remain, P3T3RSAM Animal Jam is a flash based online browser game for pc. I'm not quite what sure what you meant by, "online micro transactions available as gift and such within the online store." It does have actual physical pre-paid cards, and you can buy the at Walmart, Best Buy, and Target only. They each cost $15.95. You receive a 3 month membership, 1,000 gems, and you unlock a member only animal. Where you buy them, determines what animal you get. You probably are right about its success having something to do with it being partnered with Nat Geo Kids how its marketed. I understand what you are saying with the rest of it. I am sorry for suggesting such ridiculous ideas. I'll fix my original post to make it appropriate for the game.

It wasn't ridiculous, just unlikely. I have to admit, I'm surprised that an education based game is able to put out pre paid cards, but hey it works!

Its very interactive. It also more of a social game mixed with educational elements. You play as an animal that you can buy clothes for and have them wear. You can also change its appearance, like its fur color, eye color, pattern, and pattern color at any time, even after start playing as it. You can place things in your house, called your den, and invite friends to hang out there. You have this book called a journey book and you have to find all the animals listed in it, in each area of the game. And you play mini-games to win gems (the currency) and items. Oh, and if you have certain animals, you can go to parties for those animals only. Most of them are just a place to hang out with friends and meet new friends, but some of them have shops. But to sum it all up, it a social game with educational elements that's geared towards young kids.
