I'm a vidder (fanvideo maker) and I really want to make a fanvid for HTTYD but I'm having such difficulties finding the perfect song. I either want to make a general video, a Hiccup character study, a Hiccup/Toothless "curious friendship" kind of thing or a funny one with all the funny scenes.
Any ideas for some great songs that fits to any of these scenarios?

Well Numb by Linkin Park I would say would be a good one between Hiccup and Stoick but that's not what you want so... Umm...
I'll have a think! Do you want a song or a piece of music for the Hiccup/Toothless one?

You could always use the HTTYD soundtrack itself, but that's kinda cheating... Maybe check out some stuff by Adrian von Ziegler, he has some absolutely mind-blowingly-good Celtic music on Youtube that sounds like it should be a score for a major film. One of his songs was recommended listening in the "Build Our Story" RP thread.

Thanks for the tips you guys ^^ Skips: I prefer a song with lyrics that fits well but I have made fanvids without lyrics before as well so if I find a piece which gives me the this-is-perfect-I-have-to-use-this kind of feeling I'll definitely use that as well.

Hmmm... Upbeat and funny... "Star of the County Down" by The Orthodox Celts comes to mind, although the lyrics may suggest more of a Hiccup/Astrid study than Hiccup/Toothless. Granted, I tend to gravitate toward Celtic/Scottish/Irish music anyway for HTTYD-themed stuff, but one of those bouncy, lilting Irish tunes would fit well with a Hiccup/Toothless thing or funny scenes. My $0.02 have been given, I'm going to be quiet now... ;-P

If your looking for a few upbeat songs then i know a few; "Sticks and Stones" by Jonsi (the song played at the end of the movie, love it! ^^ ), "Colors" by Kira Willey, "Cotton Eyed Joe" by Rednex (cus its funny as heck tho not irish), and my personal fave is "Beast of Pirate's Bay" by Voltaire (who is irish if you so prefer). If I can think of more I'll let you know.
