Am I the only one excited for this? I know a lot of people said that the sisters' faces were a rip off from Rapunzel's, but I don't really mind. And then I saw the Japanese Trailer for it, and it just pulled me in. The effects were so beautiful, and I really love Elsa, she looks so fierce! Hopefully, the story will also be good

Hopefully, the story will also be good I'm actually quite mad at Disney right now, and I'll break down your paragraph to tell why (Nothing I say is directed at you, I'm just really mad at Disney) "Am I the only one excited for this?" No, there's other people out there who are, just not me and my friends XD "I know a lot of people said that the sisters' faces were a rip off of Rapunzel's..." But....it was. If Disney can't provide a variety of character designs, then people will think "Oh, it's just another Disney princess tale like all the other ones" (which it is....) "And then I saw the Japanese Trailer for it..." So let me go back to the point where you said "Japanese". Right there is the biggest problem. They didn't release the same trailer everywhere else in the world, which is a bad move. Not only that, other countries got an even WORSE teaser trailer about it, telling us nothing about the movie, except the fact that there's a snowman that talks (which I don't personally mind, but it's very childish, so that won't appeal to adults very much), and a reindeer that acts like a dog, which reminds everyone of Maximus from Tangled. "Hopefully, the story will also be good." And there's the final problem. How long is it until they release the movie? About 4 months? That's going to come fast, and Disney's not going to have enough time to advertise and tell everyone about their new movie. They haven't released anything good about the plot, they haven't released any photos on the movie, and haven't released a movie poster even worth looking at. The only thing they've told us is that it's about about it is the characters, what the movie is about, and that it's a musical (which makes me just turn away completely from the idea of seeing it) So problems in total: It's a kids movie that's a musical. Kids aren't going to want to sit down and watch a musical, and parent's aren't going to watch a musical for kids. They're advertising is terrible, which doesn't seem to get them anywhere, and the characters are too much like Tangled, which completely rips off originality. In all, it just seems they needed to release a movie just to make a quick buck, and they're not spending too long on it. I'm sorry if I'm being harsh when I write this, I'm just really mad at the fact that they could've made this movie good, but they chose to do everything wrong with it.

I'm not soooooo sure.
TBH I just... I dunno, Disney has gotten a little... big? I like supporting Dreamworks because it's not a superpower really. Disney's so rich, it owns Marvel and Star Wars and everything and I just don't wanna let them buy everything?? hbwjbhjwb I know I'm being paranoid but I just... I'll probably get the DVD but I won't watch it in the cinema. I wanna watch Turbo though!

I could be way off about the whole plot and the fact that the movie won't do very well, but I'm just a bit frustrated on the way things are turning out now (maybe if they released an actual trailer for the movie, I might feel a bit better about it...)

I could be way off about the whole plot and the fact that the movie won't do very well, but I'm just a bit frustrated on the way things are turning out now (maybe if they released an actual trailer for the movie, I might feel a bit better about it...) I personally predict that the movie will do very well. How well a movie does never ever just depends on the quality and the enjoyment that people get out of just watching it. Advertisement is a key factor here. Disney just needs people to watch the film, not necessarily like it (which I'm sure many people will seen as many //not so much including me// people liked Tangled). Disney has countless stores, theme parks, websites etc. to advertise on. It has loads of money to spend on that advertising. For example, when Wreck it Ralph came out, who didn't know about it, who actually watches TV and doesn't live under a rock? (Excuse the cliché) I'm guessing not many people. Now compare that with... say... Rise of the Guardians and badoom, you see what an advantage Disney movies have over the rest. The exact same movie could be made by Disney and another company, but the Disney one would earn more money (and therefore be more successful) purely because of Disney's power and popularity. And TBH again it feels like Disney doesn't always play fair. I mean, back when ROTG (and Wreck it Ralph) were out in cinemas, if you searched it up on YouTube and... Google I think it was? The very first results that came up were for Wreck it Ralph. Disney advertised specifically on the space of ROTG, I checked because I searched in various other animated movies, some Disney, some not, and ROTG was the only one with the advert for Wreck it Ralph plastered around. How is that fair? Burger King wouldn't be allowed to advertise outside McDonalds, so why is that allowed to happen? It feels like audience stealing to me. Disney don't need time to advertise, they just need intensity. I have nothing against Disney movies in general, I quite enjoy them, it's just that Disney as a company seems like a huge bully to me. That's why I aim, where possible, to not watch Disney movies in the cinema. I know it won't do anything, but it's just a way for me to stand up to them I guess? Of course, I could well be wrong this time, but I just don't see such a big Disney movie not being everywhere.

I currently know next to nothing about this movie, and I'm happy with that, as I prefer to be surprised. All I can say is that while I am not usually a fan of Disney musicals (my attitude ranges from "okay, that was kinda cute" to "peace it with fire"), in this case I feel obligated to give it a chance since it's gonna have songs by Bobby and Kristen. (For those unaware, that's Bobby Lopez of Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon, and his wife, Kristen Anderson-Lopez. My brother happens to have co-written an Off-Broadway musical with Kristen, it's called In Transit, parental guidance suggested.</nepotism>) So, yeah, if nothing else, I ought to like the songs better than usual.

Well I totally would if I could but a) I don't have any money, b) I don't have paypal, c) my dad totally wouldn't lend me money for it because he just let me have 50 euros to spend in Italy (I spent all of it) :/ I could have a listen though and... I dunno, spread it around? I don't know many people ^^; Or is it on iTunes? I'd be able to buy it if it was, since that's linked up to my dad's paypal and he wouldn't notice if I got it... I'd have to delete some stuff on my phone though to make room for it In Transit looks really great too btw, I love how it's a cappella!

I dunno if I should be encouraging you to sneak funds from your dad, though... But by all means have a listen and promote it! It's not everyone's kind of thing anyway, so definitely listen first regardless. Aaaaaand I think I've hijacked this thread enough for one day.

I just realized something.
Rapunzel was the first ever CGI princess that Disney has ever made, so I guess they weren't exactly used to it, character design is hard after all (pls don't hurt me) Also, the design was a Disney style, you know, big eyes, small nose, pointy chin. Unlike Pixar and Dreamworks, Disney always had this specific style for their girls and princesses.
gosh don't mind me i was just thinking out loud

I'm a huge Disney fan and I'm very excited about Frozen. My only worry is that it will be a mixup between 'the big four' stories which we've all seen before. And I agree with what someone said above, the sisters do look alot like Rapunzel and even the male characters has its similarities with Flynn Rider. What I think the big difference is with this movie is that it's got two main characters (I haven't read a plot summary of the movie but I got this impression from the promo pics, it looks like both Elsa and Anna are the main characters idk).
