This is probably a stupid question but I've bought a new chicken pen and sheep pen and I was wondering how you move your chickens and sheeps to the new pen?

You need to store your old pen in your inventory when your farm is in build mode. You can then put your new pen out and when you're back in regular farming mode, you can add your animals into the new pen by hitting the troughs or whatever; your animals will be the first options given to you.
