I just completed the relocating the wolves quest, and it got me thinking. Since the NPCs mention that the wolves are searching for more fish, how about a quest where you need to breed and help to repopulate the fish in the wilderness.
Follow me here:
~B/c of all the hungry dragons, the vikings over fish which causes all sorts of problems i.e. algae in the water skyrockets, wolf attacks are more frequent, and of course starving dragons and vikings. The dragons could start acting out and we'd need to find new ways to calm them down.
~Things you could do in quest are fight off wolves (I'm just itching to battle with my viking!), relocate fish from the ocean into the wilderness, farm and breed the fish.
~We could build nets and even design a fish hatchery that would ensure the survival of the eggs and guppies.
~Through all of this we would learn about population control, the affects of overhunting in an environment, engineering, animal husbandry, negative effects on the food chain, conservation control, and loads more about biology too!
This idea of mine isn't fully flushed out yet. But you could get a lot of mileage out of it! This is a real-world problem that has disastrous consequences. And it would be a very long quest in the game too ^w^ I like those kinds of quests where it takes you the better part of the day.
