Sorry, but the list is so incredibly vague that I honestly have NO idea what I'm getting for my money. It mentions elite quests. How many are there? Three? Five? A hundred? I've "beaten" the base game in just a couple days, so why would I want a membership if I can beat that in another two days? - Access to locked off levels for non-members
What does this mean? Is this an area with new quests? Does this mean the level of my dragon? I've yet to find a place that says "Sorry, this place is for members only"
- Ability to choose and raise your dragon
Does this include the DVD promo dragons? Do I get my pick of anything in the hatchery or do I still need to buy the DVDs? I'm not sure what benefit this even has because we can already do this. Why is there a listing for something if it's in the base game?
What? Don't we do this already? Does this just mean more options that we have to pay for or are new items free?
Is there anyone out there with a sub that can tell me exactly what we get that isn't already included in the base game? It seems like a lot of these bullet points is kinda false advertising.

Okay, so I buckled down and got a one time monthly membership. As of today, here is what you get:
20% off all items in the store Free gems monthly Receive more coins than non-members when purchasing with money Ability to warp to different locations in-game Dive into elite quests not available for non-members Access to locked off levels for non-members Access to rare locations, locked off to non-members No game entry fee using gems Ability to choose and raise your dragon Access to some of the locations and game levels Customize your avatar Earn coins to buy gear from the store Engage in different quests
So, if you pay 9.99, you get one free viking slot and 500 gems. This alone makes it break even but only for the first month. After that, it stops being useful because the slot goes away and you have to keep paying $5 for it to keep it.
However, the in game discount is really nice. Depending on how often you play the game, this might be worth it to cough up a membership.
Everything in red is not in the game yet.

Thanks for letting us know, Firestar! Hopefully as the team rolls out more goodies, the members-only side will get beefed up for you too. At least you have more gems to spend now? And the discount is something I'm jealous of >.>

To be honest, at first I was quite a bit upset that I had bought a membership and got nearly nothing in contrast with what was advertised. I didn't understand that those things weren't in game yet but each time I needed to buy chicken or sheep feed, the more glad I became that I had the membership. It really does add up and is totally worth the $5!*
I didn't get any gems to spend because the first thing I did was open a new character slot using those gems since I'm sure my "membership slot" only works so long as I continue paying and I'm not planning on doing that.
