I'm creating my character for the first time, and I am trying to name her "Calder," but when I click to approve the character it tells me I've entered an invalid name and to try again. I double checked to make sure I didn't put any accidental spaces or symbols. I keep getting this error even after reloading the page and recreating the character from scratch. Is there something wrong with the name or is this just a bug?

There are some limitations to the names that players can choose in game, so it is relatively normal to see this type of message appear while creating your character, zsteube. Additionally, there is a chance that another player already has this name in use. We are so sorry for the confusion, but you may need to try choosing an alternate name to begin your journey to School of Dragons!

Hello Zsteube! As Admin will come on and no doubt say, try refreshing your cache. Follow this this LINK and do what the steps tell you. It could have also possibly been taken. I highly doubt it but it's always a possibility. I think that normally it'll say "Sorry this name is taken" if it is . I hope I can in someway help you, and that you resolve your naming issue. EDIT: It appears that Admin has already appeared and not told you to refresh your cache! O.o Truly the stars must not be aligned for this rare moment to occur.

Well, one separate issue I am having that is impeding gameplay a lot is a very large amount of lag. I can barely move my cursor in some sectors of the game. I figure this is something that might be worked out in time, but I wasn't sure if there might be things I could do in the meanwhile to help diminish it. I closed some superfluous programs on my computer down and it helped a little but not at all in some places. :c
And a completely unrelated question is... is there a way to alter dragon appearance after creation? The lag made it near impossible to customize. I feel I dun goofed in my choice for dragon so I'd at least like to make mine look dapper if there is a way.

If it's the first stage and you've just had your dragon hatched, then yes, there will be 2 other times that you can customize your dragons colors. If you've already upgraded once, then you will have one other time to customize your dragon, and if you've already upgraded twice, then you cannot customize your dragon anymore until the Dragon Teams next update that lets you upgrade your dragon again. Hope this helped!!

We recently released a couple updates to reduce lag, which can be read about here in another thread. Also, as p3t3rsam suggested above, try clearing your browser cache to help speed things up. We are continually updating the game to provide you with a smoother, more enjoyable experience so we’ll let you know when new updates come soon. Concerning your second question, lifesky is correct in that you can change your dragon’s appearance when it hatches, and when it grows to be a teen and adult.
