>First off, thanks for having a Q&A session, a lot of game developers alienate themselves from their consumer base and that can cause a brick wall when it comes to communication between the two.
>I guess my first question would be, do you have one really big server that hosts one "map/cell" or do you have multiple cells loaded of the same stage. So say Viking A and Viking B both spawn in. Is their a chance that whilst being in the same stage of the game, they'll be in different cells or servers?

> I also thank you all for a Q&A session!
> And I would like to ask: What have you planned for the game? Which features are planned? (If you don't want to answer because it's a secret, that's alright! really, it is ^^ )
Edit: Also, is it alright that, everytime I light every Lava Pit in Berk, I recive 50 Gold? I made some rounds and I somehow feel it's wrong to get so much Gold just for lighting some Lava Pits.

>Since it seems like everyone took the day off today, I thought I'd assault OP with a plethora of questions.
>Big Bad Question One: >Do you plan on adding anything to the wilderness? >Currently, the wilderness is very empty. Player wise and content wise. Maybe add some big bad mother truckers (Outlaws maybe? goblins? bambi?) walking around that you could give the 'ole 1-2 to level up your dragon skill and maybe put a bit of coin in the pocket? It seems like there are some survival aspects that seem a bit shoe horned in, can we expect more of them? I really like them and there is nothing better than being a professional dragon-riding boy scout.
>Duke of disaster Question number two: Any chance of more islands? >Fans of the show will remember the young vikings constant obsession of messing around in Outcast island, home to Alvan the treacherous, any chance we'll be able to give some bad vikings a lesson or two in dragon battling?
>Notable nefarious question number three: Any sort of House or dormitories? >A lot of MMO's (I hate to say it but "club penguin" for example *moans and groans from readers*) allow the player to pimp out a house with ingame as well as real life money (gems to get the good stuff). This is a god way of keeping players playing (Jeez louise! I really want that fantastic dragon leather ottoman! Better keep playing!)as well as putting some cash in the pocket of the devs (I know you guys need it and I'd shell some cash for a fantastic dragon leather ottoman!).
>Originally named question four: Stance on upcoming DLC/updates! >As cooler and more amazing content comes out, can players expect free updates, or will they need to beat up their poor grandparents for money to keep playing?
>final fantastic question four: Is "Admin" a collection of people and their consciousness or is there a single mind behind the steering wheel?
>Secret question six: Can we get some more forum areas for specific stuff? Say "Admin's refrigerator", where people post their own magnificent "HTTYD" art they made, or "Bug reports" where there can be a template to fill out to file a bug report. Maybe even a suggestions area in case you want some of that kinda stuff. I hope you all lost as much time reading this as I did writing this! See you around!
TL;DR: Lots of boring questions about things that people really want to know.

Yeah, I think while at school, young Vikings should have their own dormitories. Like a home away from home.

I agree as well, your own home would be an awesome addition So, here are my bunch of questions... -Will there be more dragons that we can chose from later on? And will we eventually be able to choose more than one dragon, without having to make a new account and avatar? I think if that feature would be added, you should be able to choose which dragon you want to play throughout the game with. Again, they all be staying at your own home, or in a home specifically for them. -Will there be another way of earning gems in-game? I think there should, just to make things fair, especially since many things in the store are worth only gems (though I'm sure more gold-worth things will be added). I think that maybe every time you level up, you earn a certain amount of gems, although not many. Just to avoid making the game too limited for those without a membership, and without needing to buy more gems with real money. Just to keep things fair and balanced. -Are there eventually going to be more activities done with Hiccup/Toothless? Just like at the beginning of the game, you ride him. I'm sure everyone would love more activities like this -What the real reason that night furies weren't added? XD Yes we all know that up until now, Toothless is the only one...but why did the team decide not to include more in the game? My own guess is that so many people would be choosing them, and not any of the other dragons...But I just want to be sure. -Is a non-browser version planned? I think one asking it a standalone game would help with preformance, as it wouldn't be running on the browser. And, if the mobile version is to have an offline feature, why can't the PC version have that too? That would be a great and helpful addition as well. And while online, I think like for example, Roblox, you should have the option to play by yourself, or online with all the people. -For the Mobile version, which I'm still eagerly waiting for, and wish to know about when it will be out...what devices will be compatible with it? In this case, I'm referring to the apple products. Which generations of each can run the game? And lastly.. Can you add the jumping rocks in the lab back? That was kinda funny...XD
thanks for doing a Q&A, I look forward to your answers. These are some a friend and I have been wondering, and that maybe others have too ^^

I'd actually really like a non browser version! It could go in my games folder, heck maybe I'll even add it to my steam games!

thanks for doing a Q&A, I look forward to your answers. These are some a friend and I have been wondering, and that maybe others have too ^^ - Like Wild Skies, you can train different kinds of dragons. For dragons you didn't want to ride, you could put them in stables or something - Yeah, I agree. I've been bugging my mom all day about it XD - That was REALLY fun. - Yeah, they're rare, but I think you should get one when you're high level enough. For example, maybe you're going on a quest, and then you find a Night Fury. -Agreed. -Agreed.

Once all quests or done or something, as a reward for learning everything on befriending a dragon, you get your own night fury. Just so that not every player as one from the start XD

>Before I start talking about why I strongly oppose the idea of making gems attainable in game, I'd like to direct you all to this short video on In game purchases by Extra Credits: Link! The only qualm I have with making gems attainable, is that the devs need money. The game probably cost a lot of money to make, getting the voice actors, hiring the coders, hiring the dev team, hiring concept artists, the rights to the intellectual property of "How to Train Your Dragon", I could go on and on. We're extremely fortunate that the game is free as it is, and while I have no idea how much revenue this game brings in, or even whether it was marketed to produce money, or just to advertise the "How to Train Your Dragon" franchise, I believe that the devs will need every penny they get to make the game into a profitable medium. Purchasing things from the store with real money "Gems" encourages the dev team to continue to make new content and fix bugs in the game. >I hope my wall of text helped illustrate the problems of making gems obtainable in game.

True, thats a good point. Although, thats why i mentioned that at least a small amount of gem, though not enough to buy that many things. Those who dont want to wait until they earn enough can still buy some if theyd like. But it can stay as it is right now ^^ Just as long as more things are added that can be bought with gold, too. Though im sure that'll be worked on.

So say Viking A and Viking B both spawn in. Is their a chance that whilst being in the same stage of the game, they'll be in different cells or servers? Good question! We have multiple servers that we load balance. Basically we direct all the traffic into evenly spaced ‘rooms’ for optimal performance. For every server we have multiple rooms, that use algorithms to keep them full. It is possible for two people to be in the game, but not in the same rooms, as we are constantly creating rooms based on people coming into and out of the game. Hope that helps answers your questions. We love hearing from fans like you as we work to grow School of Dragons!

I'm particularly fond of the Skrill, the Typhoomerang and the Changewing. However, I'm not sure if you can ride a Skrill and not get electricfied.

OOOHHH! Thanks so much for creating this!!
Q1) If/when the game introduce battling dragons and rival viking clans, will there be a bigger plot in the it all? (For example, having to defeat a viking clan that threatens to take over Berk) Q2) I noticed you were able to go WAY out of the map when flying. Are you going to set boundaries on how far people can fly? Or are you just going to let people fly for as far and long as they want? Q3) Will there be games and contests later on (such as design your own dragon contest) for people to win in-game prizes? Q4) How many people are at work in the team? Q5) How long has the team been working on this project? Q6) Will you at some point be able to have the option to fly to where your friends are? Or will you just have to message them and meet them somewhere?
Thanks so much for all the hard work your doing!!
