Hello fellow vikings, after much deliberation I created some mockups that illustrate some ideas that I have seen floating around the forums and other places. >SUGGESTION ONE: Chat Improvement. >Currently chat is requires a ridiculous amount of work to access. My favorite idea I have seen so far would be to have it like minecraft chat. A good idea would be to be able to disable chat as well, in case parents or players either don't want to read chat or parents don't want their children talking to people. Here Is my crude mockup: SUGGESTION TWO: Better Options Menu UI (user interface). >Currently the Esc button UI has a few flaws, one of them being the lack of an "OK" button and the poor placement of the "Switch profile" button. In most games, an "OK" or "I'll do it!" Button is placed at the bottom of the options menu. Instead of one of these buttons, there is a switch profile button. Here is a mockup I did of a comparison of possible button replacement (Top is Fixed, Bottom is Current): I hope these mockups can help in further development and improvement of the game. If anyone has any other Ideas for mockups, just send a message or reply to this post detailing your idea and I'll be happen to try my best to illustrate your idea.

Well, if you use the chat like this, the game should bring a word blocker, so you can block like (I'm sorry to even write this) "vanilla" "moron (and other harsh insultings) "pamps" etc.
Also, there should be at least 3 moderators, you know? One Moderator for every place. Who'll keep an eye on the chat. After all, you can avoid words and you can still insult someone really hard. I've been on several minecraft servers where this was the case. They had word blockers, but spammers (also a big problem) can avoid these words easily.
We all know there are some people who have too much time in their lifes, so they start with insulting the players. They use the anonymity of the internet to laugh about others, so they can feel better. Just one word: Cybermobbing and Spamming, it's everywhere, and I'm afraid it could happen here if we use such a simple chat. Sure it's an awesome idea, but it also brings these problems and probably even more.

Yep. Having a public chat would require a chat protections system. I'd presume the target audience is kids so there'd definitely need to be one. I do, however, feel that any change would be an improvement to the current system!

Oh come on, he current system isn't that bad, is it? Just no one is using it :/ I also had a slight probelm with the chat: Whenever I sended something, it was posted 5 or more times! For example, I wrote "hi!" once, and the chat looked like this: Viking-25551371: hi! Viking-25551371: hi! Viking-25551371: hi! alyssa: I caught a Perch! Yay! Viking-25551371: hi!

My beef Is that it's hard to find as well as use. An easy to find/use one would allow players to actually know there is a chat and utilize it. I'm sure a large majority of the playerbase doesn't even know there is a chat system, given that you have to go through a labyrinth of menus to find it.
