My character started with 50 gems. I spent 15 gems to change my dragons color so now I have 35 gems. But one of my friends has 88 gems. They didn't spend any money and they aren't as far as me in the game. Will gems be earned in the game or do you have to buy them with money?

Hi Terra....i got 100 gems at the start and used 50 to unlock one of the flight club level....after i chnaged my dragon color for 15 gems
..now iam left out with 35 gems...and i think we cant earn gems...we should buy them i think :(((

Yes, gems are the currency that has to be paid with real money. They can give you some features, but are totally not important for the progress in the game. These features you can pay for are only to give you more fun in your game, if you wish. You have 2 chances to change your dragons color for free when he/she grows up. You can buy some nice clothes for gems, but you don't have to. I know the Store doesn't offer much choice for Gold-payers YET, and I'm sure the developers will add more things that can be paid with Gold. But I think it's okay, after all the developers want to make a little bit money too  And since it's your free choice, it's totally fine, isn't it? |

Hey guys. As nazgul and Acanthea noted, gems can be purchased with money although some are given for free when you create your account. Our team is working on fixing this issue where players start with different amounts of gems. Please be patient with us as we fix this for you. Thanks!

Right now, the only way to get gems is to purchase them with money although we plan to have ways for players to earn them in-game in later updates. We are looking into why players got different starting amounts and will correct that. For information on more updates that have been made to the game, check out our other thread.
