The dragon energy bar depletes waaaay too quickly. Fishing is tedious and honestly isn't very fun. The store offers the option to purchase fish using gems, which cost real money. Since this game is clearly directed at a PG young audience, I don't see many players being able to purchase gems. Even I, an adult perfectly capable of purchasing them and have purchased virtual goods in other games, have no interest in buying them simply for the fact that I know they aren't a worthwhile investment- dragon will go hungry again shortly and I will end up either having to buy more fish or spend more time fishing (which makes me grow bored of the game entirely). Far too much time is spent having to stock up on fish, which leaves less time playing the game itself. In short, the whole fishing system and how it is necessary to play the game take away a lot from the overall quality of experience. EDIT: My idea, adjust the rate of decay on the dragon's energy bar. I spent roughly 5 minutes catching two fish, fed them to my dragon, and about 5 minutes of gameplay later it was hungry again. OR, perhaps adjust the amount of time it takes to reel in a fish. This way it would be a lot more satisfying to have lots of fish. To fix the store issue, the store-bought fish should be of "higher quality", i.e. they add more points to the dragon's energy bar, or they can have special effects such as "Keeps energy bar full for X hours". Swell ideas! Support ouo

Hi, girbear. Thanks for the suggestion. We are constantly working on the game's balance and appreciate your thoughts on fishing and your dragon's hunger bar. Ultimately, we want to do what provides you with the best gameplay experience. We'll pass your thoughts to our production team. Thanks and feel free to let us know whenever you have new ideas for the game.

So far I've been very happy with the look and mechanics of the game. The producers really outdid themselves with the visuals, and it's just a lovely game to play! I spent a fair bit of time earlier today just flying around the landscapes admiring the view ^_^ (I really love the waterfalls in the Wilderness, and the wisewoman's house at the top of Berk!) I'm also really happy to see new customization options already in the store so soon after public launch, and I'm excited to hear about the new farming and quest additions in the pipeline! Customer service has been beyond reproach, and I'm a big fan of the educational aspects of the quests, especially for younger players.
The few technical glitches I've encountered (getting stuck on scenery occasionally, or unable to accept a quest) are either mild enough to not impact my enjoyment of the game, or were promptly dealt with by staff after I reported them.
My only issues with the game are some of the balance issues, like girbear already mentioned. Fishing was okay the first few times I did it. It has now become a tedious chore, especially since I have to pay gold to get bait, and having reached the end of the current quests, replenishing gold in order to get that bait is yet another tedious exercise in lighting fires over and over again. Sure, it's doable! ...but it's not *fun*, and that is something I can see leading to burnout very easily, especially among younger players with shorter attention spans. I would like to see the fish either replenishing more energy than they currently do, or the bait being cheaper (1 gp/bait, perhaps? You buy a minimum of 3 at a time, and members get an extra bonus bait with each set?). I also second Girbear's idea of the fishing taking less time per fish, so there is more time you can spend enjoying the much more interesting games and races! Another option might be to increase the amount of recharge your dragon does while it's resting in game, or else allow it to recharge at a set pace while players are logged out. This would let people have a couple of 'free' races/flights/quests when they first log on each day, as well as providing incentive to bring people back on a regular basis, with the knowledge that while they slept, their dragon did too! And is now rested and energized to go do a few more rounds of training before needing to be fed or rested again.
Overall I'm very happy with the game, especially given how new it is, and I hope the balance issues can be tweaked over time so the challenge/reward ratio of some of the minigames becomes better aligned.

Hi, i entered the game one week ago, and it's very good. There are some problems with flying lessons, bot other it works just fine. The graphics are great, also the voice and lessons. I would just add a little home for every player, so he/she would fell like in the movie where Hiccup shows his room and dragon place many times. It would be more interesting if there would be such a thing, it would be even better if you build your home on your own (even more fun). I don't know what all there could be made on the game but there is a lot of things that could be improved. I love the game!

I've found it quite difficult to earn money in the game. :/ I've noticed that for farming - the rewards on the noticeboard are /less/ that the cost it takes to grow the produce. XD There's a task to hand in 20 Dragon-nip which rewards 120 gold. To buy the seeds costs 200 gold if you're not a member and 160 if you /are/. That's uh, not very motivational. Fishing is a pain - really I need to get the better rod - but I can't do that as I'm spending all of my money on bait to feed my dragon constantly.
Fun game though! <3

Am I the only one who's noticed that bait is 8 (!) coins now? The Botanist wants me to give her 11 fish (three of them salmon!) for a quest and she's going to give me ten coins. It's going to cost me 88 coins, at least, just to catch them. I think this is very harsh as almost any thing you do - like Flight Club, Fireball Frenzy and Thunder Run Racing all take a lot of energy from your dragon. Everyone knows that you don't catch a fish with every bait, either. I do have a more advanced rod, but it's not magic. You still have losses. Also, on the job board they are still only paying 50 coins for 10 fish. It's going to cost 80 to catch them. I have enjoyed the game, when it's not locking up.

Hi! So far I am loving the game despite all the random glitches. I find that when the quest glitches happen sometimes I can just refresh my game. Other times I have to wait until the next day. Right now the glitch I have is when I go to the store. It's not giving me the member pricing even though I am a member. I do have a suggestion with farming. It would be nice when you go to harvest if your crops didn't get scattered all over the place. Sometimes it takes a while to collect everything and if it takes too long whatever your harvesting disappears. So, it would be nice if your harvested crops would stay near your plots for ease of collecting. The other thing I have noticed is when you go fishing on your farm. Before fishing the water is a nice soothing sound and volume. After fishing it's loud and obnoxious. Other than that most of the glitches seem to work themselves out eventually.
I am loving the game though. I know it's geared more towards children and being an adult I probably shouldn't be as amused by the game as I am. My 3 year old loves watching me play and thinks I need to get him his own red dragon, lol. So, this game is great for children and adults alike. I can't wait to see what new quests and adventures you guys come out with next. :)

You can buy bait at the store. Walk up to the hut that says now open, or click on the shoppingcart near the mini map, but you also should be able to get there when you fish, click on the sign that says you don't have bait.

Could you please tell us your computer, operating system, and browser? Are you unable to see other players every time you log in? And when you click on NPC characters nothing happens? Any details you can provide would be helpful. Thank you.

School of Dragons is a really well-done game. The graphics and details are beautiful, and animation is very fluid when there's no lag. I can't help but notice how smoothly the fish wiggle around, and how the dragons stare at your cursor. It's not laggy on my laptop, but it is newer. I also like how the game is not about killing monsters and stuff. Even if enemies are added later, there's a lot of other things to do.
Farming is pretty fun. You get your own pond and you can customize the area. The one thing I don't like about it is how there is the instant-harvest gem option. It's really easy to accidentally click on it, and many people don't use it anyway, since there are better things to spend gems on. I honestly think the option should go. I'd rather it was something like, "members get things done 25% times faster" or a large payment to improve the "efficiency" of your farm or whatever.
There are glitches and bugs, but they don't ruin gameplay that much. For example, sometimes my browser randomly closes while running the game, or crashes after being idle a little. On Google Chrome, whenever I switch tabs and then come back, I can't move until a few seconds later. Every now and then all the people disappear from my game, but a restart solves that.
I've noticed an issue with quest payout. The "eggs-pect the best" pays out 95 for 12 eggs, but chicken feed costs 32, and each chicken gives 3 eggs. So 32 x 3 = 96 cost to get the eggs, which makes no sense. Either the payout should increase, or the feed is made cheaper.
Overall the game is really awesome because there's a variety of things and of course the dragons! It's also cool that you can fly to other places and outside the "walls" of an island. And since it's still beta, I feel like I'm being a little nit-picky. There are a lot of unique features, and I love the interaction from the staff to this game and community.
