>Heeeellloooo everybody. It seems that as of late, everyone has been saying "add this!" "Add that!", but I think it should be more of "Fix this" and "Optimize that". This fantastic post is about bettering what we have, and makeerifying what we don't!
>A downloadable launcher
>I know that all of you rude dudes like to play in browser mode, but why not have a downloadable launcher, an .exe file, similar to minecraft or skyrim, in that it is a program you run all on it's own rather than in google chrome or internet explorer. It could help people with poopy internet/computer stuff, and I could add it to steam (that'd be fantastic!).
>Client side visual settings
>For a F2P MMO, this game looks fantastic, but unfortunately, good looks means bad FPS for some people. Currently, the graphics are handled serverside, which means that all of the graphics settings are uniform for everyone. If the graphics were handled clientside, people with not so great PC's could run the game with lower graphics and better frames, and magnificent sons of a gun like me, with amazing gaming pcs, can crank them graphics skyhigh.
>2d grass sprites.
>Now this one is hard to explain but I think I can. imagine a 4 sided 3d pyramid. now, replace all the faces of the pyramid with pictures of tall grass. Now you have 3d tall grass. An example of grass like this would be Skyrim and sorta minecraft. This would make grass look fantastic and real.
>Disable seeing other players/singeplayer.
>For people with bad a bad connection, disabling un-needed entities such as other players and their dragons would be highly beneficial. This would speed up frames drastically.
>Besides the grass model thing, these are all suggestions that don't involve new content and would help people with poor pc's to get better frames and more funtastic gameplay.
>NINJA EDIT: Inspired by Skips, server choosing:
>Name the servers something recognizable (or just server 1, server 2, server 3...etc), show how many people are connected, and the players connection to the server. That way you and your friend can both join the same server AND hopefully join one with less players (less lag).
>Actual content suggestion: Make player interaction more important.
>Currently school of dragons is more of a "single player game with other people walking around" rather than an mmo. MMO's tend to encourage player interaction. Things like doing hard dungeons together, trading equipment, battling rude dudes to level up, all of these things encourage player interaction, and school of dragons has none of them. A good update, rather than be something stupid like gold boots or some stupid junk like that, would be an update on having certain quests need player cooperation. "team up with fellow students to tame a wild pheonix dragon." and taming the cool guy would get you cool stuff or something. just having players teaming up and working out things together would be fantastic.
