>Heeelllooo Everyyybody. Jeez Louise, can you even believe how fan biscuit-tasticly fun it is to go fishing? Besides being a breakthrough in gaming, fishing is great for getting food for your Dovah. Unfortunately, a bunch of other chumps got the same idea, so finding a nice quiet spot away from lag and other noisy vikings can be hard. Here's some of my less mainstream (get it? Mainstream? Anybody? No? My dad maybe? No? Just me? Okay...) fishing spots.
>ONE: Little pond under the walkways at the village. >In all the times I've been to berk, I've never seen anybody else there, so it's the perfect place to relax and unwind away from all the stress of training dragons. It is also conveniently located near the stone quest board.
>TWO: Beach area in training school land. >This place is a nice place to go to get some of those illusive salt water guys. It's a bit of a hike, but is nice an empty. Also, I'd recommend bringing some tanning lotion so you can look nice for the bikini beach babes.
>THREE: Wilderness pond. >People really only go to the wilderness to get wood so it's practically empty almost all the time! Good place to get fish as well as the added bonus of ticks and bug bites. You can also go pretty far into the water and still fish. It's nice to cool off in the water.

Hi, Vikings! Thanks for providing some awesome tips on great fishing spots around Berk. We figured it may be helpful to provide some tips on fishing so here is a step-by-step guide to help you fish in School of Dragons:
1. Walk up to a body of water. Get close enough so a fishing icon appears beneath your avatar. Click the icon to enter into fishing mode. 2. Click on the bag next to your avatar and choose bait to start fishing. If you don't have any bait, go to the store by clicking on the shopping cart icon in the top right of the screen. Once in the store, select the fishing tab and then the bait tab to purchase bait. 3. Once bait has been chosen, click on the Cast icon. You will notice that the Cast icon turns into a Strike! icon. The game will signal for you to click on the Strike! icon when “Strike!” appears on the screen. After you have clicked the Strike! button, it will turn into a Reel button. 4. In order to reel in the fish, two methods can be used depending on which type of rod you have:
Basic Rod: If you are using the rod you began the game with, you can either press and hold the space bar or click on the Reel button to reel in the fish. Try to keep the cursor in the green portion of the meter by pressing and holding either the space bar or Reel button when the cursor is in this area and releasing if it gets too close to the red area on the right (if the cursor moves too close to the left, click Reel or press the space bar to move the cursor toward the middle). Getting too close or into the red areas will cause you to lose your bait or the string to snap.
Advanced Rod: Once you have accumulated enough gold, you can purchase an upgraded fishing rod. After following steps 1 through 3, you will notice you now have a Drag button. Following the same instructions as the Basic Rod to reel in the fish, clicking on the Drag button will cause the cursor to move left when it moves too far to the right. Be careful not to overcompensate with the Drag button as it can also cause the string to snap or the bait to get lost! Alternating between the Reel and Drag buttons will help you bring in the fish.
We hope this guide helps you become a better fisherman at School of Dragons. Please let us know if you have any more questions. Thanks for playing!

Hey, everyone. Here are some more helpful tips to keep in mind when fishing. It's important to understand the mechanics of this activity as well as the fish you are trying to reel in in order to be successful:
1. The bar is a tension meter. It measures how tight the line is getting. The farther right the meter moves, the tighter your line is becoming. Too far to the right, and your line snaps! 2. Reeling tightens the line. If it’s getting too tight, stop reeling. 3. The fish have 3 states: not fighting, fighting and fighting hard. You can tell a fish is fighting because it will be splashing around in the water. The more they fight, the tighter the line gets. The trick is to reel when they are not fighting. Try waiting until the fish calm down before you reel in the line. 4. Bigger fish are harder to catch! They fight more and are stronger. If the line breaks without you reeling, then you need a better rod to catch that kind of fish. Head to the store to find improved rods. 5. The Drag button on the better rods works better than not reeling. The tension on the line reduces more quickly. You can catch fish quicker and more easily when you learn to use the Drag button. 6. Different fishing spots give you different kinds of fish. This might help if you are searching for a specific type of fish. There may even be secret fishing areas if you look hard enough! Try to experiment with different spots – explore, have fun!
We hope more insight into how fishing works will aid you in your quest to catch those slippery fish. Let us know how fishing goes for you.

I can understand that some shirts and boots cost gems, that's okay. Even the levels in Flight Club is alright.
But I think it's kinda unfair that you have to pay for a better fishing rod. So you need to spend hours for fishing for your dragons energy. It's hard to catch a Brown Trout with the bad fishing rod, and it's almost impossible to catch a Salmon or a Halibut.
For myself, I think this is a bad "improvement". Everybody should have the chance to buy the best fishing rod there is, but some people just can't spent money for something like that

You can also go pretty far into the water and still fish. It's nice to cool off in the water. I've had a LOT of luck getting Brown Trout and Perch at the Wilderness Pond. It also seems to take less time to reel them in if I'm standing in the water instead of on the shore. -Standing on the Dragon doesn't hurt either, although the line goes through myself and the dragon to reach the tail before being 'caught'.

Another isolated spot for fishing is a small cove in the corner kind of underneath the school commons. There's mostly herring with occasional halibut and salmon, for me at least.
