Skips' eyelids fluttered open, allowing her a blurry view of a grey, smoke filled sky. Blinking some sort of grey powder from her eyelashes, the world slowly came into view. It was then, when she noticed that the substance covering her face was ash, that her memories and the realisation of where she was and what was going on slammed into her full force. With a panicked gasp, she jolted into a sitting position, coughing violently as the breath that she had inhaled seemed to burn right down her throat and into her lungs with a sharp pain. Ignoring this, she whipped around and almost fell back again when she saw Metal. He was alive! She laughed weakly in relief as it overwhelmed her and she sensed all her strength escape her again, leaving her leaning on her arms heavily.

Metal was startled by the sudden jolt from Skips and even more so when she began to laugh and he watched as all her strength seemed to seep from her, Metal smiled and removed his mask and placed it on Skips to stop her from inhaling the smoke, Metal felt well rested enough and stood up a few fish in a barrel had sedated his hunger and when he stood up he no longer felt faint. So with his new found strength Metal lifted Skips one arm under her legs and one arm supporting her back and began to walk towrds the remenatns of the outpost however Metal refused to meet her gaze

Skips couldn't bring herself to protest as she felt Metal slip his mask onto her face and lift her from the ground, whether it was through exhaustion or the relief gathering in her heart, she had no clue. She simply allowed him to walk slowly, with her in his arms, aiming for where she could only guess that the remains of the outpost would be. She concentrated on watching his face as he stared ahead, not looking down at her once. She knew all that she would see if she so much as glanced elsewhere would be the prone, unmoving bodies of his people, their symbolic cloaks smothered in the same grey that covered the sky. Gripping his arm at that thought, she wished that she could convey everything she felt towards the broken person carrying her in one look - how she knew that he was blaming himself and that it wasn't his fault, how she was going to stay with him now - no matter what, how much she loved him. She stayed silent, though, letting her heart swell as she heard Metal's soft voice in her head, repeating the most recent words he had said to her. In her mind, she replied with the same words as his over and over, wishing nothing more than to be able to shout them aloud. She cursed the mask covering her mouth, the stinging in her lungs and her fatigue, damning the gods for her uselessness once again.
((I'm off for dinner!))

Metal arrived at what was once the infirmary, it was the only building still able to be called a building, and placed Skips on a bed, he popped a wooden crate lid, and pulled out some fish and mead that had survived the outfall, and placed them beside Skips within her reach. he turned to pick up a candle which was on the floor behind him and paused in mid air as he saw what lay upon a bed not far away, he walked over as if in a trance and slumped into a chair by the bed that now haunted him, as in the bed lay a Wanderer who's eye's gazed upwards and due to rigamortis laid curled up with both hands clutching a sword that protruded from his chest.
Metal's hands started shaking and tears started to flow fro his eye's once more he placed his right hand to his mouth in an attempt to suppress any sort of sound that may seep out, and his left hand on his knee trying to stop it's shaking.

Skips felt her heart break as the image of the last of Metal's wanderers came into view from the almost upright position that she had pushed herself into. The mead she had been sipping slipped from her hand and upon seeing Metal's eyes fixed upon the body, a tear ran down her face. It wasn't fair! Why were the gods so cruel?! She swung her legs over the side of the bed, standing shakily. She gripped crate and forced herself forward, eventually reaching the side of Metal's chair, which she used as support. She wanted nothing more than to hold him as he cried, but she couldn't reach him and had run out of energy, so she simply slumped at Metal's side, leaning on his shaking leg, sadness and hopelessness flowing through her like some sort of disease as she gazed at the dead man, silently praying for him, Metal, and the rest of the wanderers.
((Ugh sorry this sucks so bad I'm honestly super tired, this is really difficult for me to write ^^; Also sorry for the incredibly late reply - homework is stupid))

(Sorry for being late. I had to type an essay. Recap?) ((let's see... All other Viking regained consciousness, Magnus is now searching for survivors, and yeah Allyssa got the antidote, that's it I guess))

(I know about the antidote, wondering if it should work or not. Thanks for the recap though.)
Annabethe finally gave up on waiting. She stepped outside and whistled for Flare. Her dragon was by her side in a flash. She climbed on and took off to find the others.

Vim couldn't sleep despite how comfortable and safe he felt next to her. "You still awake?" He whispered.

She wasn't awake before, but she was only sleeping lightly. Boethiah responded with a "Mhmm...", eyes still closed as she curled against him. Nothing seemed really right anymore.

"I can't sleep." He said, rolling over to face her. The moon shone through the window and sparkled in her eyes. She was the only thing in his world that still made sense.

She shared the pain he felt. Not to the same extreme, but she did feel pain. Her father crippled. She didn't even look for her other friends, so now she was worried that they were part of the dead. Boethiah felt for his hand and grabbed it, not wanting to let him go. "Maybe you can't sleep because it's a bad dream," she mumbled.
