Snotlout reappeared and ordered for the Nightmare riders to follow. Dotta hid along with the others and simply waited. She knew the plan. And what she had to do.

Vim could see the ships on the horizon. They were headed straight for the pass. Vim reached over and grabbed the bottle of oil he'd throw on the ship so it would catch faster. His legs were shaking but he steadied himself. The ships got closer. He patted Thorntail. "Ready?" He whispered. Thorntail snorted. He'd do whatever it took to protect his rider.

Dotta laughed at Magnus' remark. But couldn't respond as he quickly scurried off to join with the other Nadders.

The ships closed in. Vim could see the faces of some of the Romans. Some were hardly older than he was. "NOW!"
The catapults launched. Boulders flew through the air and blocked off both ways through the pass. Romans shouted in surprise. The Nadders took off through the air, followed by Nightmares. Vim threw bottles of oil onto the ships. The Roman's eyes widened in surprise. Did they have dragons down there?
The lead Nadder, Astrid and Stormfly, shot spikes and fire. The rest of the Nadders spewed fire as they flew over. The ships went up and smoke.

One of metals men tapped him on the shoulder trying to get his attention " hey metal ummm I thought you said these people would be smart" metal glared at him and he backed down. "i know, I know ... They are going to get slaughtered like that .... Continue with are original and Fall back to the outpost, they won't stop the Romans and when they land I want every solider ready"

"NOW!!" Snotlout charged forward. Dotta and Blackie and the others followed suit. Some of the Roman soldiers stood around dumbfounded as their ships burned. That was when the Nightmares attacked. The first wave surrounded the Romans with fire blasts. As they grouped together, the second wave came in with Nightmares alight. The burning Nightmares barrel rolled through the soldiers.

The Romans had no bows or crossbows, but they blocked most of the spikes with their shields. The ones who were hit turned green and fell over. He heard a large voice shout something in a strange language. The Roman's did exactly what they expected and jumped off their ships, climbing up the mountain.
"Archers!" Suddenly dozens of crossbows leaned over the mountain and fired at the climbing Romans. Some raied their shields and blocked them. Some got hit and toppled into the water.
Vim was confident that all the ships that went into the pass were on fire. He wasn't stupid, he knew there were other ships that made it through, but they trapped most of them there.

Flying through the fire, Allyssa quickly patted out a small flame on her shoulder. She turned back and flew up to check for more ships.
Annabethe whooped as she spiraled down the ships on Flare, knocking out the remaining enemies.

He fly around the wreckage of the Romans ships and thought
"this can't be it, it's to easy for us"
He later finds his team later on

Boethiah was able to instruct Zirth in his attacks, while firing herself. It was hard to keep him steady at times from the oncoming arrows and such, but they tried best they could, bringing down ships and soldiers that fought back.
