Vim was still shocked. He hadn't wanted this. He didn't want the marriage accelerated. He didn't want Stoick to throw a wedding/feast in his honor for (not) killing Metal. All he wanted was to protect Boethiah from the 'glory' of being nothing but a killer in the village's eyes.
He sat down in the snow and buried his face in his hands. And he cried. He had ruined everything with Boethaih now. He was suddenly going to be on the front stage of the village for being the boy who killed the fearsome Black Wanderer. They would expect him to become like them, a warrior, living for nothing but the next battle.
Vim didn't want that. He just wanted a nice life of hunting, fishing, gardening and flying his dragon. One day he wanted a family, maybe with Boethiah. He didn't want to end up bleeding out on a battlefield like the Outcasts he'd killed. He laid down in the snow in the fetal position and cried until Thorntail nudged him gently.
"What is it?" Vim asked, sniffing, "I just want to freeze to death so I don't have to face the village." Thorntail snorted as if to say, 'Stop being such a hatchling.' he nudged Vim again and lowered himself so Vim could get on. "Where are we going?" Vim muttered. Thorntail snorted. 'To go get your mate.' "She's not my... oh whatever. Just fly you overgrown lizard."

Zirth had landed on a small island, or at least, one small enough where if you stood on the tallest hill, you could see all edges of the island. Nobody lived there. It was barren and forgotten. Which was alright by her.
Boethiah jumped off Zirth and sat in a little alcove that dug a bit into the side of the hill. I could stay here, she thought to herself. I could live off the land and build a little shack. Staying here for the rest of my days and have nobody know where I was. Zirth sat himself next to her and nudged her a bit with one of her wings. She was crying and she knew it. But it wasn't like she could change anything. The wedding was going to happen in a month. Nobody would listen to her to try to change it back, or Hel, even call it off. Apparently, having a normal life was too much to ask on Berk.
All Boe wanted was for Metal to be part of a family. For her and Vim not to be married, but just happy together. For her friends to get along and be able to camp out every night under stars on the beach. For them all to go back to school and go back to their studies. She just wanted time to reverse itself to a time when things weren't so complicated.

Thorntail led Vim to a small island. He hopped off and saw Boethaih crying on a rock. He didn't say a word. He walked over, sat down next to her and wrapped his arms around her. And he cried with her.

She didn't want to see him. She didn't want to feel his touch. She didn't want to have anything to do with him. Yet, she wasn't pushing away. Boethiah just fell in to his arms and cried. She felt like this was partially her fault. She was the one who changed him to want to help Metal. If she only kept her mouth shut.
With her crying, she thought she turned into such a weakling, letting almost anything break her. But she cried where nobody would see her cry. Her hands gripped Vim's shirt a bit and eventually, she stopped crying, but just sat in silence on the island. Curled against him.

He eventually stopped sobbing and they sat there, hearts pounding and shaking. "I'm so sorry." He said shakily. "I thought it would be better if I said it was me..." He swallowed. "I wanted to keep you and our friends out of it."

He cared so much. Really, she thought he cared too much for his own good. But still, she tried for a smile. "That's why we're all friends, Vim," Boe said with hushed tones. "We're supposed to do things together. Stick through good and bad as a team no matter what...that's what friends are for..."

He hung his head. "I know. I was a fool and I've been blind." He sighed loudly. "Maybe.... oh forget it. No point in trying to fix this. Metal is 'dead' and can start over. So what if everyone expects me to go off to war as soon as I become an adult?" He said, bitter. "I wanted so much more than this, Boe. Ever since the Outcast attack I've sunk lower and lower into the expectations of the village. I've been too good and now Stoick is thinking of having me be Hiccup's adviser when he retires and Hiccup becomes chief."
He started shaking again. "I want a life other than war. I want... I want a nice life of hunting and farming. I...I want a family some day. I can't do that if i'm lying in a ditch bleeding out like all the people I killed." He started crying again and buried his face in her shoulders.

This time, she hugged him and she listened to him. Every day, it seemed she learned more and more about him. About what he wanted and how he acted. She couldn't think of a way to fix things. But there was one word. "What about just saying no?" she mumbled. It seemed stupid and childish. And it most likely was. But it could still be an answer.

He stopped crying but didn't let go of her. "Why am I so worried?" He asked, "It's not like we're going to war anytime soon." He looked into her eyes. "As long as you know i'm worth more than that... I'm fine with everything else."

Boe looked into his eyes and nodded. "Of course I know that. Even all those times when I didn't, I always knew you weren't just that."

He dipped his head down and found her lips waiting. He tasted the salt from their tears. He pulled back and gave a weak smile. "I guess we have to invite Metal to our wedding." He said dryly, "That'll be fun."

His small kiss was electrifying and she chuckled a bit through the drying tears on her face. "It won't be that bad," she smirked. And before she knew it, her lips were against his again and she just let the moment linger on.

He sat there in complete bliss as her lips were on his again. The world seemed much sharper to him. He noticed every strand of hair, every eyelash, every tearstain. Colors were brighter and sounds were sharper. He pulled away eventually because he needed to breathe.

That's what she had been waiting for and it couldn't have been better. Boe let out of the kiss and she couldn't help but blush a bit when she looked at him.

He managed to form coherent sentences. "Well.... That was nice." The dragons were laughing. He didn't care. Things would be okay. "One kiss and suddenly everything is okay." He laughed. "You need to kiss me more often." Then, to prove his point, he kissed her again.
