Are you new to the game and a little stuck on what to do? Here's a quick guide to how to get started!
1) Complete quests:
Look for people with exclamation marks above their heads. This means they are offering quests for you to do. Completing quests is the fastest way of obtaining and then leveling up your dragon from baby stage to teen stage, and then from teen stage to adult stage in which you can fly! If you're stuck on one quest or low on energy, just pick up another one. Multi-tasking is easy, and to swap from quests all you need to do is select it in your journal.
2) Caring for your dragon and balancing costs:
For those of you who want to care for your dragon and balance costs, here's a simple little rule I abide by. Firstly, with regards to-
Fishing. When fishing, there are very common fish, such as Perch, Brown Trout and Herring. Refrain from feeding these fish to your dragon! They don't increase the energy of your dragon by very much, but when you catch 10 of them, you can sell them on for 100 coins! Therefore try feeding your dragon the rarer fish in order to keep a good balance between care and cost.
Keeping your dragon happy- it's very easy. Leatherball is a slow way of making your dragon happier, just click on your dragon to pet it, the happiness goes up quickly and you can carry on as you were.
3) Familiarise yourself with the map:
Knowing where to go is extremely important with quests. Get to know the locations and shortcuts to and from places, for example- It's faster to get from the school to Berk using the boat, and vice versa, and with the wilderness its faster to get to from the school. Also knowing where you can cut corners is helpful, since the arrow may tell you the long way around if you are on a teen dragon or on foot.
4) Generating money:
Quests don't pay much and a lot of things are expensive- However flying in racing earns you 25 gold a turn, IF you are on a single player track. You can take your time and still earn quite a bit of coin, so no pressure. Again, by adhering to the fishing rule, you can generate enough money to keep buying bait to get your dragon's energy up and continue faster. Another good way of generating money is by getting sheep and chickens and feeding them, and then growing sunflowers at the same time. Just one bag of sunflower seeds generates a lot of sunflowers, therefore its easy to reach the required number to sell them on. Then feeding your animals allows you to grow even if your well has run out of water. Fishing from your own pond is also a good way of passing the time while waiting for crops to grow, and there's less chance of your rod lagging since there are no other players in your farm, and it's one of the smallest places in the game.
5) Use the forums!
Yes, using the forums is the best way to tag along with all of the awesome features that will pop up in the game, and the best way to get direct advice from a lot of people who know a lot about the games. It's also a good place to get a sense of community, and it's run by friendly and awesome staff who will also help you out if you ask!
Anyway, hope this helps a any new players who are struggling a little. :3
