Suddenly a horn was sounded. The enemy was sighted. Vim saw a ship barely make it through the narrow crack ships wnt into. The catapult launched and demolished it. But in the time it took to reload, 5 ships landed on the beach full of angry, menacing Outcasts. They yelled a battle cry and charged up the docks to wear Vim and other warriors were standing behind a barricade. The Vikings all screamed a battle cry as the rushed forward to protect the barricade.

Waiting for Dotta and Allyssa was Fergus. "Good job girls. We'll launch the catapults once the Outcasts become visible. Once those rocks land it'll be your group's cue to charge at 'em. You'll be part of the first wave over there."
Dotta followed to where Fergus had pointed and joined the ranks.

Metal gave the que and the Bowmen hailed arrows down on those that had landed due to their position being above the gap their attacks came from behind and caught them off guard, arrows rained the beach till nothing moved, Metal re-strung his bow and waited for the next ship to pass under him. 'How many lives did I just take?' he grimmiced now was not that time to think about it and re-strung hid bow

Vim rushed forward with the sea of Vikings. They clashed with the outcasts and the battle begun.
Nothing could prepare him for the chaos of war.
Streams were heard as weapons clanged together. Vim could not get a clear target with his spear. The blood roared in his ears. He saw a Viking pinned down by an outcast. He rushed forward and shoved his spear into the outcast. He bellowed in pain and the pinned Viking threw him off and finished him with his sword before looking at Vim gratefully. "Thanks," he said, and rushed off to find another enemy.
Vim stared at his bloody spear, numb. Suddenly he snapped back to action as he heard an outcast coming up behind him. He ducked just in time to avoid being decapitated, then turned around and raised his shield, looking an outcast in the eyes. Then he charged.

Allyssa was facing against a burly-looking Outcast. The Outcast couldn't seem to land a blow on her, while Allyssa ducked and jabbed at her enemy.

She saw the box and thought it was amazing. But the bow was...unbelievable. It was nothing like she'd ever seen before. He had done this for her. But before she could say thank you, they had relined up and the battle begun.
At the cue, she fired her arrow. Something in her switched inside. As if all the fear inside was drained when she launched the arrow. A wave of them flew over. There were already screams of war from below. She couldn't see Vim. Or Alyssa. Or Dotta. Or anyone but Metal. She had killed someone and she had to keep doing it. And so she equipped another arrow and waited for the next cue to fire.

It took a while to take the Outcast down. Man, he was feisty.
(By the way, he didn't die. Allyssa's still too weak to take down the enemy regularly. She has to be motivated).

The outcast was armed with a sword and no shield. That would be his downfall. Vim jabbed his spear into his legs, arms, and shoulders. The outcast could do nothing to block it. But every time he swung at Vim he brought his shield up and blocked it.
Finally the outcast got smart. He sidestepped Vim's last spear jab and grabbed the shaft. Then he whipped in around and thw it into the fray behind him. He smiled triumphantly and tackled Vim, who was weapon less and pinned down. He raised his sword, and Vim saw his sisters face.
"No." Vim whispered.
He slipped his sword from his scabbard. The outcast didn't know he had a sword, but he sure knew now. It was poking out of his chest on the other side. The outcast looked down at his chest before looking up at Vim, dumbstruck. Then his eyes faded and he slumped over.

Dotta gripped at her axe and charged forward. She soon came face to face with an Outcast. He sneered at her. But Dotta was unaffected. She just gripped her axe and leapt at him. The first blow successfully stunned him. Next she disarmed him. Then came the first contact. Her blade sunk into his arm. The outcast cried out in pain. Dotta drew her weapon back and watched in horror as blood gushed out. The outcast quickly retaliated but Dotta was quicker. She swung her axe and landed a blow. The outcast went down and never came back up.

Vim withdrew his bloody sword from the dead man he killed. He looked down at the body, numb. He just killed him. He felt nothing. No joy, no remorse. Suddenly he heard what he feared. Dragons, flying into battle. And they weren't on their side.

Dotta nearly dropped her axe when she heard the roars. "Odin hep us." The dragons had come.

Allyssa had successfully knocked out some more Outcasts, and she looked up at the dragons. "Is there any way to get them on our side without killing or threatening?"

Metal readying his bow gave the que for them to fire, in no time the beach front was a mess "alright guys" addressing the 9 bowmen in front of him "dont wait for my signal if you see an outcast shoot" as he said that the roar of a whispering death came through the gap the outcasts had come through "dragons!" He yelled and pushed 3 of his men into cover one of whom was boethiah
