Ok so THIS is how you should be able to get a nightfury. Like many rare things, you should have requirements first.
the requirements are:
1) You should have a house/dormitory: Nightfuries have huge wings and will need a place to rest after a long day.
2) Your level should be high (somewhere around 15 or so)
3) Your dragon bonding level should be high. I'd originally say 15 but now some of us are there. So perhaps make it 20 or so (or keep it 15?)
4) Your farming level should be 15 or so (maybe higher). You dragons can eat the dragon nip, eggs and fish that you get at your farm. Not enough farming, not enough food upkeep for your dragons.
5) You must have completed all the quests (this is mostly a given but still a requirement)
so those 5 requirements you must have before even STARTING to get the nightfury.
Once you have all these, the next time you step outside, you'll see a brief shadow fly by in the sky. This will be your first clue. As you step other places you'll see more and more clues. Once you have stepped into all the places possible to retrieve the clues (and you MUST SEE them otherwise you'll have to re-enter the area) a quest will appear beside Hiccup. He will mention the shadows in the sky and that Toothless keeps taking off at noon hour (this part is key). Then he will want you to investigate and point in the direction that Toothless takes off.......
And this is how far I got with the quest xD anyone else is free to add on to this.....but this is where my ideas run out xD

Well yeah, sooner or later you're gonna achieve those stats xD. I'm making it so everyone can get it and it won't be a p2w thing. It's like to get a certain mount in a certain game, you need a certain level and a certain amount of gold. You're gonna get the requirements eventually, but you must have these before you do anything else.
Nightfuries should be implemented in the game. People basically want every dragon. Skrill, nightfury, scauldron, boneknapper, etc.
But here's a question. How's the game different from being overridden by night furies when its already overridden by nightmares?
The game is gonna have a majority of one dragon, there's no denying that. So it's kinda useless to say it when people will just go to the next best thing; nightmares.
I wonder if the dev's have already planned a way to implement nightfuries and we just don't know it xD. In which case, all these threads are useless.

I get the story. And while thinking about it, it would actually become boring after a while to be riding a nightfury all the time. So instead of it replacing the dragon you chose, how about if it just stays in your house and/or follows you around?
It became boring in wild skies so no doubt it'll become a bit boring in this game (especially since there's nothing you can do with your dragon anyway)

I get the story. And while thinking about it, it would actually become boring after a while to be riding a nightfury all the time. So instead of it replacing the dragon you chose, how about if it just stays in your house and/or follows you around? It became boring in wild skies so no doubt it'll become a bit boring in this game (especially since there's nothing you can do with your dragon anyway) Even though night furies are my favorite dragons, I actually used the other dragons more than toothless in wild skies. Toothless isn't the only night fury out there, I don't see why not to add them. See my thread for my idea (Night Fury Quest), if you want, but I think they should introduce a special quest that you could do once per profile that would give you a new viking slot with the option to hatch a Night Fury. Then, you would still have both dragons because you basically have two vikings.

Well, mine is that when a Skrill dies, then a Night Fury comes to life. Really weird - yours has more of a reasonable basis - mine is totally all lore. But in regard to this general idea, Brynjolf already said on another giant thread about Night Furies, that they wouldn't be adding any to the game unless more Night Furies are found (and even then they might not thanks to the overpopulation of them) - so he said players should come up with more ways to interact with Toothless himself. I think that's a good solution. |

If Toothless was the only one, it'd be a kind of spoilerish thing. Because then it would change Toothless' and Hiccup's dynamic a bit and he might be a bit more protective. And keeping things a mystery is all a part of the game.  |

Guys, lets just all hope toothless isn't the only night fury k?, I'm pretty sure dreamworks doesn't really care for that right now.
Plus, I want to see what's baby night fury looks like.
