... to catch Salmon with the basic rod? I can catch everything else with it, and I've come close to catching salmon a couple of times, but is it truly possible, and has anyone ever done it?

Since making this thread ((way back in thirteen-hundred and odd-five)), I found out that it is possible. The seemed to make them a bit easier to catch not long after I made this post, so I was reeling in the salmon, long before I bought an Improved Rod for 800g.
So, now we all know.

okay I did do it on the advaced rod a few times but it was hard, okay I know the advaced rod (the best one) has a break system which allows you to actaully hold off on the power and allow for when the salmon starts thrashing and goes to the red zone to go back to the green zone. I also know if you aven't used all your gems you can get it too

okay I did do it on the advaced rod a few times but it was hard, okay I know the advaced rod (the best one) has a break system which allows you to actaully hold off on the power and allow for when the salmon starts thrashing and goes to the red zone to go back to the green zone. I also know if you aven't used all your gems you can get it too I spent my 100 gems on hair; I wanted wavy hair more than I wanted a fishing rod. XD Plus, advanced costs 150, so I wouldn't've been able to get it in any case. |

it increased then because I remember it was a lot less, but I maybe confussed. it is alright just be patient and you will get it soon ^^

I caught one on the basic rod, but only after losing a LOT of bait.
On the advanced rod, think I'm up to about a 75% catch ratio. They take a lot of patience, even with the drag button.

I caught 3 salmon with the basic rods. But I think they fought less than the others usually do.

With a basic rod I have never but now that I finally had enough money and bought an advanced rod (yes!) I catch most salmon. I really, really don't regret getting that new rod. Honestly, if you know what you're doing with farming you can get money quite easily and finally have enough for a new rod. Bait is still not cheap, though....

OMG! I just bought the improved rod (for 800 gold) and after I was done fishing, I made the gold back! With all the fish quests PLUS the farming quests, I had made back my gold! Plus I think I even saved some fish for my dragon (not like it matters though since I don't really use him anymore  ) but still! Love the improved rod! |

I don't know. I never bought the advanced rod. But put it this way. I was able to catch 29/30 fish and about 5-10 of em were salmon.
It makes fishing a LOT easier. The only reason I lost one fish was because I clicked drag too much and lost my bait
