My son started playing yesterday. We created his first guy and he came and got me after an hour or so and told me his dragon was gone. We walked all over looking for it and I looked through all the options and found no dragon and no way to recover the dragon. So we logged off for the rest of the day.
This morning we logged in and still no dragon. We went ahead and spent 50 of his gems (not right that we had to do it) and made a new guy to see what would happen. We were able to get the new guy a dragon and my son played it until he and his dragon were level 2. At that point the Unity web player locked up (I was standing right there). After we closed it and restarted the game his dragon was gone again.
If you are wondering if a game about dragons can make a 6 year old cry then I'm here to tell you it's possible! He had just got done telling me that his dragon loved him and the happiness bar was full! Please figure this out!
Would also be great to get the 50 gems returned that we spent trying to fix your bug.

I too am experiencing this issue. I am not particularly sure if it is for specific dragons, but I had my Whispering Death disappear on a character. I then created another character to see if I could bring that dragon back again. It worked, but as soon as I logged off and went back on, it disappeared.
Currently running on a Late 2011 MacBook Pro, using Safari, with my system as Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.

I had just advanced a Monstrous Nightmare to adulthood and then she disappeared as well...
I tried instancing her back in. Loading into different areas to see if I could force her to show up. I even tried going into Fireball Frenzy, but the game tells me the warning "You need a dragon to play Fireball Frenzy!" She doesn't even show up on the journal screens. It's like the dragon itself abandoned my character.
I'm using a brand new MacBook Pro on Safari. I tried Firefox as well and the same result; no dragon. I tried making a new account and the same glitch happened.

Lots of people seem to be having this problem, i'm sure the developers are finding a fix to this so don't worry too much.

I am also having this problem. I hope a fix for this bug comes soon Don't worry, girbear, we're on it! Could you please tell us what browser you were on, what operating system you were using, and what computer you played on? Also, was there a specific point when you remember losing your dragon? Perhaps you were in the middle of a quest? Any information providing context would greatly help us out. Thanks!

I, as well, am having this problem. I basically did what Kohdi did, tried to get my Monstrous Nightmare to reappear by going to different areas, tried to use the keyboard key for mounting and tried going to Fireball Frenzy only for my game to also tell me I needed a dragon. My Journal, too, doesn't show my dragon. Like my dragon just up and left. But on my character screen it does show my dragon's level (its level 6) but doesn't seem to be acknowledging any exp gain from a few quests I did while I was running around (Ruffnut's camouflage quest and Fishlegs rock type one).
I'm using an Asus Laptop, with Firefox on Windows 7. As for when I lost it, I was doing the first upgrade quest, I just gained the ability to mount it. I don't remember if I was doing any other quests. I logged out in the Hatchery, logged back in a few hours later and my dragon was gone.

I just started playing because I love HTTYD and this game looked amazing. I had an adult monstrous nightmare, lvl 7, Im lvl 5. I had to log out because when I walked into flight club it wouldnt stop loading. It was full, the bar anyways, and sat there for like, an hour.
When I logged back on, my dragon was gone. I tried going into flight club, nope. :/
I'm in google chrome, a dell XP pro pc.
Is this close to being fixed? I am -very- distressed and was nearly considering buying gems for this game then my dragon dissapeared.
